KNPB Asya Sector Recruits 67 New Members in Jayapura

Jayapura, Olemah.com – The recruitment committee of the KNPB Numbay Region, Asya Sector, conducted a new-member recruitment activity at Honai Asya, Jayapura, on Saturday, September 5, 2026.

The activity was held from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. local time under the theme, “Join and Unite in KNPB, Struggle Together toward an Independent Papua.”

According to the committee, the recruitment process took place safely and in an organized manner. A total of 67 participants took part in the activity.

Three Main Topics Presented

The participants received three basic topics related to Papua and the KNPB organization.

The first topic, The History of an Independent Papua, was presented by Reuter and Nahason, members of the KNPB Asya Sector.

The second topic, KNPB Organizational Principles, was delivered by Tuan Weko Kogoya, Chairperson I of the KNPB Numbay Region.

The third topic, The History of KNPB, was presented by Boni and Peres, who were identified as the Sector Chairperson and Sector Diplomacy Chairperson of Asya Sector, KNPB Numbay Region.

The committee stated that history is an important foundation for understanding Papua’s identity, the organization’s development, and its political position.

Committee Explains the Purpose of Recruitment

In its statement, the committee said the recruitment was intended to strengthen the organization and expand its civil political support base.

The committee also expressed its views concerning violence, injustice, and conflict in Papua. According to the organizers, KNPB continues to conduct a civil struggle to voice political aspirations and demands for Papuan independence.

However, claims concerning violence, colonialism, and alleged human-rights violations remain statements from the organizers and require independent verification and responses from relevant parties.

Call for Political Consolidation

At the end of the activity, the committee called on students, young people, parents, and the wider Papuan community to participate in the political movement they support.

The committee also described Papua as being in a military and humanitarian emergency. This remains an allegation made by the organizers and was not independently verified in the information received by Olemah.com.
